Barbecue, the clinic and DEL MAR opening day

The barbecue on Saturday was a lot of fun and I got to taste a lot of new interesting food like develed eggs, rainbow fruit sticks, and caramellized popcorn.

Everyone got a burger and then for dessert we got cake and icecream. Bob and Melodee had made a special cake to welcome me :D

Later in the evening some of the staff from the hospital went out to a Martini bar here in Oceanside and I tried my first martini, a chocolate martini. I newer ever imagined that there are so many flavors available of martinis.

Everyone was super sweet and here are the old interns, Monique and Katie. Monique is starting as a vet at another hospital soon and Katie is continuing at the hospital now as a vet.

On sunday B&M took me to the famous IN-N-OUT Burger for lunch and later on I just chilled and worked a little on my tan. 

 In the evening me and Melodee rented a movie and had a girls night in while Bob was out on a little business.

On Monday I started at the clinic and wow just on 2 days I have learned so much. They allow me to do stuff and are really good at teaching. Today I even got to do my own surgery.

When I came home the dogs greeted me and I went out and read a little bit in the sun. I LOVE the weather here. Why is it not sunny always all over the world, seriously?

Tomorrow is an exhiting day. Monique, the one in the red dress above, invited me to join her to the opening day of DEL MAR Racing-tracks for horses. Apperantly 45,000 people come and it is a HUGE event with women in long dresses and hats. There is even a hat competition, who wears the most creative one.

We are NOT joking about the HAT situation. Thank god I have a long dress with me but I seriously need to fix a hat by tomorrow at 2 pm.
